Hi there

I'm just wondering if I recieve tax back after lodging my return. I have a lump sum TPD payout sitting in Super that I only withdraw from when needed.

- I am under preservation age

- I have no other income but rely solely on centrelink dsp (which is non taxable) & tpd withdrawals through out the year when needed.

- My taxed rate upon withdrawal is 11%

- My first withdrawal contained a tax free uplift component & the remaining amount was at 15%.

Hoping someone could shed some light.

Thank you

Is your question asking about general tax return turnaround time from submitting your 2024-25 tax return to the ATO?

Or are you asking about the tax treatment of lump sum withdrawals you make from super? Tax on super benefits | Australian Taxation Office if there's any withholding applied to the lump sum withdrawals you make from your super, you generally need to lodge a tax return at the EOFY to get a refund of any overpaid tax.
