I'm working as a sole trader with an international band - they're touring Australia, i'm in charge of booking shows, invoicing venues and passing the net income to them at the end of the tour.

I understand that I have to withhold 30% tax for the ATO (assuming they don't get a variation).

Not sure how I remit this WHT to the ATO as a sole trader? is it possible to do it myself, or do I need a tax agent?

Hi @jazkel24,

You don’t need a tax agent to remit the withholding tax. As a sole trader, you do this yourself by:

That’s all that’s required to remit the withholding – there’s no separate payment system just for foreign resident entertainers, and incorporation isn’t needed.
