Hi.

I used to have savings account interest paid to me but now no longer have that. I was enrolled to PAYG because of those interests. I like to change the PAYG but it seems so complicated online and not sure how to do that. So I just pay the quarterly amount billed to me even though I know I am paying for things that I'm not suppose to.

Two questions.

  1. Will I get back those extras paid quarterly?
  2. How can I change this PAYG thing because I no longer have those big saving accounts interest anymore?

Thanks.

If a variation of the instalment amount is too complex you should seek out a local tax agent to do this for you. (their fee is tax deductible). See how to vary below

How to vary your PAYG instalments | Australian Taxation Office

"When you lodge your tax return, the PAYG instalments you have paid during the year are offset against your tax,...,"

Starting PAYG instalments | Australian Taxation Office

Instalments paid and not used after your tax return has been processed will be refunded.
