Hi @Minny03,

You can find instructions on how to lodge a Failure to Lodge on Time (FTL) penalty remission request online on our website.

It explains who can lodge and what info to include.

Hey @Minnu03,

Jumping in to add some context using the link @NikkiATO shared. The page includes a 4‑step guide for submitting a remission request.

Step 1 links to the relevant form, and explains how to request remission of interest and FTL penalties.

There are 3 ways you can submit the form:

  • online
  • by mail, or
  • using your registered tax agent to submit on your behalf.

Depending on whether you're using a registered agent, are a business or an individual entity will determine the way you can submit.

If you’d prefer to speak to someone, remission requests can also be made by calling the lodge and pay enquiries line.

If calling, it helps to have the following ready:

  • what prevented lodging on time
  • what steps are you taking to prevent the same thing from happening, and
  • total amount you're asking us to remit.

Compliance history and whether the debt has since been lodged and paid are considered when deciding whether to remit.
