I am currently using the online H&R Block service for my tax return, with an extended deadline of 15 May 2026. My issue is that their service does not support non-resident returns with foreign income, which I was previously unaware of. I now wish to lodge my tax return using the ATO's own online service instead. Is it okay to do this, or is it too late? On my ATO online service portal, it still says my tax return is due 15 May 2026, which leads me to believe this should be okay.

From ATO

"Most registered tax agents have a special lodgment program and can lodge returns for their clients after the usual 31 October deadline"

Lodge with a registered tax agent | Australian Taxation Office

The May 15 2026 due date is for clients of the tax agent you are registered with. Lodge yourself using myTax and the due date will revert back to October 31 2025.

You could contact the tax agent by phone to see how they can assist in lodging your tax return.
