Is it possible to get a terminated employee's stapled super fund. For example, say a business does a round of redundancies in July 2025, but those employees are eligible for a bonus paid out in March 2026. With payday super coming, it may be very difficult to obtain many employee's new super fund details in a short amount of time. Or if we are unable to contact them, the backup is always stapled super fund, but can't do this the normal way if they are terminated.

G'day @CanadianMegs 👋

No, because the ATO prerequisite for requesting a stapled super fund for an employee is that there's an active employment relationship 😕

It is one of the biggest issues with this process! Especially for annual bonuses, as per your scenario 😉 Send the former employees communication saying you're preparing to pay their annual bonus and can they complete the Choice of Fund form you attach to enable the super contribution to be paid ASAP, or via ATO Online. Most respond pretty quickly 🤓
