Hey everyone, hoping someone would be able to shed some light on this situation.

I am currently on workers compensation, doing door dash when I can, to try and make my 15hrs per week. The insurance company is trying to state that my whole dash time does not count, only the “active time”. I did see another post about the dash times and that it needs to be the whole time for tax purposes, so I can’t see why it wouldn’t be the same for this.

I should not that they cannot provide me with a source from which they come to this conclusion. They keep referring to section 38(3)(b) however it doesn’t not say anything about the seperation of the times. And when questioned they either tip toe around it with other bs or straight up ignore me.

Hi Ian93,

We can only provide general info on tax matters here at ATO Community. For help with a workers compensation claim you will need to speak with the agency in your state that regulates workers comp.
