Hi everyone,
I work for a company that has two office locations: one in the city and one in a suburban/regional area.
As part of my job, I am normally based in the city office, but I am required to travel to the suburban office on a regular basis. The round trip between the two offices is approximately 110 km each time.
I make this trip around 40 times per year, which means I travel approximately 4,400 km annually between these two workplaces.
My question is:
Can I claim a tax deduction for these travel expenses when lodging my individual tax return?
The travel is directly related to my employment duties and is between two work locations of the same employer, rather than between my home and work.
If it is deductible, would I need to keep a logbook or other records to substantiate the claim?
Thank you for any guidance.
