Hi! I'm wanting to claim km's travelled for my business. I've kept a logbook for business travel only and have racked up over 5000ks, but I don't have time to complete the 12 week logbook before the end of the Financial Year. If I start now, am I still able to use the logbook method and claim all the travel I've done? Or can I only do the cents/km method up to 5000kms since I won't finish the 12 week recording in time?

Can't use logbook method.

"If this is the first year you have used the logbook method, you must keep a logbook for at least 12 continuous weeks during the income year."

Can only extend logbook into July if the business use of your car started within 12 weeks from the end June.
