After owning my PPOR for many years I purchased another property and moved there to complete various construction works/land improvements, raise livestock, etc. over a number of years (this second property was never my PPOR). I rented out 75% of my original PPOR for around 7-8 years, leaving 25% unrented as I stayed there (in a separate building) while completing weekly yard maintenance as per tenants Rental agreement, collect my mail, etc. (There is a separate cottage on site so as not to interfere with tenants who were renting main house). QUESTION: How is this treated for CGT and the 6 year absence rule. Clearly it exceeds 6 years all up, but not clear the actual rules that apply.
