Hi @K.Sun,

To fix this issue, you'll need to check the date you've entered in the 'reported effective date' field. This is the date the transfer balance account event happened (such as when a pension started or was commuted).

If you're reporting an event that occurred in May, make sure you've entered the actual date the event occurred, not the reporting period end date.

As a general guide:

  • If the event occurred after 1 July 2017, use the actual date of the event.
  • If the event occurred before 1 July 2017 (for example, a pension that started earlier), use 1 July 2017 as the reported effective date instead.

When you lodge a TBAR, it's important to distinguish between:

  • the reporting period (which can be quarterly or annual depending on your fund's total superannuation balance)
  • the reported effective date (the actual date each individual event occurred).

You can have a look at the TBAR instructions to understand what information is required for lodgment.

If you've checked the dates and you're still experiencing issues with lodging, you can contact us for help with your specific TBAR lodgment.
