I note recent communications about Pay Day Super and ATO’s Small Business Superannuation Clearing House closing.

In our case, we have a small 2 employee (husband and wife) business.

For some years now, we have been paying our super directly by scheduled bank transfer to our Super fund on pay day (once a month).

In our accounting software (Cashflow Manager Wages 1-4), we record these payments in the Superannuation > Pay Fund section.

Subsequently, when we submit our STP, the ATO is made aware of the super payments and the dates.

As far as I can ascertain, we meet all the requirements of Pay Day super, and as such do not need to be using a clearing house at all.

Do you concur with this view, or am I missing something? Is there some additional report / reporting we need to be doing now?

OK if super fund is your SMSF.

From 01 July 2026, super must be paid within 7 working days of each STP payday.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Bruce. Not quite answering my question though.

To further clarify...

1) Our Super Fund is not an SMSF, just a private fund we have been paying into for years,

2) Additionally, for years now, we have always paid the required SG into that fund on the same day we pay our incomes.

So, my question is this...

Can I continue exactly as is, i.e., pay direct into the fund on pay day, noting that...

a) This approach is direct -- no clearing house is involved.

b) The ATO is aware of the date and amount of our SG payments as this is advised every time STP is submitted.

I'm really trying to determine if I am forced to use a clearing house from 01 July 2026, as I see no need to do so given we are already compliant in terms of our SG payment process (and will continue to be so).

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Teschner
