I am an Australian sole trader and I am required to work for couple of month in Singapore on a project as a consultant. The travel is only for work purpose, my family will remain in Australia. I need to rent a place in Singapore to establish an office over there. They require my physical presence but part of my work will be conducted from the office established there.

  1. Can I claim portion of accommodation and running cost associated with the space that I used solely as my office while staying over there?
  2. Assume travel costs between Australia to Singapore are deductible.

Thanks
