Hi, we have had a clerical error on our super upload profile and made a few employees' SG into wrong super fund. We have corrected this error and resent their SG to correct super fund on 24 July on our clearing house. Clearly we will not be able to make it by due date on 28 July. My understanding is we have to lodge a SGC statement by 28 Aug. However, as the contribution belongs to June 26, the SGC statement blackout the late payment offset and the total payable amount is inclusive of the SG shortfall. Are we going to pay the June contribution twice to the employee?
Hi @Gloriahym,
Yes, your understanding is correct. If the contributions aren't received by the employees' super funds by 28 July 2026, you'll need to lodge a quarterly SGC statement for the June 2026 quarter by 28 August 2026.
However, this doesn't mean you'll pay the June quarter super twice. If you've already paid the original super contribution to the correct super fund but are still required to lodge an SGC statement, you can claim a late payment offset in the SGC statement. This will help ensure you don't pay the same amount twice.
As you've advised the corrected contributions were submitted through your clearing house on 24 July, I'd recommend monitoring whether the employee's super funds receive the payments by 28 July 2026. If they don't, you'll need to lodge an SGC statement for the quarter.
