You will need to self-determine whether you need to lodge a tax return as it's based on your personal circumstances.

Broadly speaking though if you have had tax withheld from any payments such as wages made to you during the income it's likely that you will need to lodge.
Whether you're entitled to refund depends on your personal circumstances. We do have an income tax estimator that you can use to work out your tax refund or debt estimate.
