Hi every one

please assist me with this question and provide details as accurate as possible. Your assistance is highly appreciated in advance.

I am trying to work out my tax and GST. So i have a full time job and i started doing ride sharing just recently occasionally on weekends. My question is regarding how i calculate the tax and GST and how to use the $.85 per km deductions.

say i earn $100 per day feom ride share. How do i calculate the tax on this and how is GST calculated?

do i calculate the GST to be paid after the per KM deduction method of the total $100 then pay tax on the remaining or thats incorrect? Please assist me with an example as well.

thank you

Tax will be calculated at your marginal tax rate when you lodge your annual tax return.

GST payable is 1/11th of your gross income = $100/11=$9.09.

There is no GST on cents per KM deductions. It may be more beneficial to claim actual costs for fuel, registration etc based on the percentage of use for Uber on all motor vehicle expenses.
