I am an employee, I am not self employed at all.

I lodged my 2023 tax return a couple weeks ago and prior to receiving my notice of assessment, I've been sent an 'activity statement'.

My understanding of this is the ATO is saying I need to pay tax on July to September this year but why am I being asked to pay this now instead of after June next year?

The only other income I have is interest from my bank account and I pay the tax on this in my notice of assessment.

Hi @shaihulud,

It sounds like you have been entered into the Pay as You Go Instalment system. This can happen when you report instalment income (such as bank interest) above the entry threshold on your income tax return.

Hi ,

So how do we come out of this "Pay as You Go Instalment" system, as there might not be sufficient funds to pay every Quarterly ?
