We have sold our holiday home and we are trying to ork out our CGT liability. We had the house for 600 days and during that time we had holidays in it for 200 days.

Our accountant is telling us that we can only claim 2/3 of the cost base because we were staying in it for the other 1/3 of the time. For example if the interest on our loan was 30k, the account says we can only add 20k to the cost base.

Is this advice correct? I can't find any information on the ATO website to answer it.
