I am currently in Australia with a student visa and i want to open an online store ,selling in different platforms ,like amazon,e-bay,etsy etc. Can i apply for a ABN or do i have to get permanent residency or citizenship first?

If your student visa has no restrictions on you starting a business and you are entitled to an ABN, you can apply for an ABN.
Depending on the business you start. You would need to report the income you earn from your ABN on a tax return.

Remember though, you need to self-determine if you're eligible for ABN. Check with Department of home affairs if your visa allows you to work in Australia.
