If your son is earning interest from his savings, the bank will withhold tax.

You can apply for this back using our refund of over-withheld withholding tax form - this is if they've withheld non-resident tax which is usually what they do if they don't have your TFN.

You may also need to consider if you son will need a TFN for the bank to stop further withholding tax.
