I seem to have a $6 per month "tax file number" fee being taken from my savings account. It always has a reference starting "ZDD40....". Can someone help me clarify this, please? It is not a standing order or direct debit that I can work out so it must be a fee for an outside company. Is this something I can cancel? Thanks for any advice.
Hi @eimilec
This is most likely a tax file number withholding deduction. (You should get credit for these amounts in your tax return)
Most likely reasons is that your bank does not have a TFN applied against that particular account and is therefore withholding tax.
Contact your bank and ensure the correct TFN is applied against your account and the deductions should stop.
