I am currently in Australia on a 417 Visa, working on a farm. I am considering taking up some small online jobs on the side. Do I need to pay taxes on this income, and if so, how and how much?

Hello there @Jules25,

This is going to depend on your residency. You will need to work out your residency status for tax purposes.

In most cases working holiday makers are foreign residents. If this is the same for you, you would only report that income if it's coming from Australia. If this work is for a business overseas, it is foreign resident income and is not reported.

The tax you pay is based on how much you earn, not how many jobs you have. You should have a look at our Working holiday makers tax rates webpage.
