Hi,

I have a question regarding the travel expenses incurred for a work-related conference. I live in Brisbane (work and sometimes stays in Rockhampton) and had to fly to Melbourne for the conference (which runs for 3 days). As the conference starts early morning, I booked the flight to fly in a day before to make sure that I can attend on time for the conference and fly back to Rockhampton the day the conference ends. In this situation, am I able to claim the full costs of the flight in my tax return? Thank you.

Hi @Jay98,

Yes, assuming the travel is 100% for your work conference and you won't be in Melbourne for any personal activities.

You can claim the full cost of your flights as well as some other travel expenses.

Have a good trip! ✈
