Hi Karun
Contractors are paid super guarantee (SG) the same way as employees.
For super guarantee, you need to ensure you're paying them by the due date (quarterly). Keep in mind that some super funds, awards and contracts require superannuation to be paid more regularly (for example, monthly) than the SG quarterly requirement.
What this means is that at minimum for our requirements, you must pay the SG for your contractors quarterly, however you can (and depending on their fund, award, or contract, may have to) pay more frequently than that.
You don't have to use a clearing house, but you still need to make sure you're paying under SuperStream requirements. A clearing house is one of a few methods you can use to make sure you're meeting the SuperStream requirements.
Hi @TheFancyFish,
Thanks for your response.
With time I mean to ask if the contractor worked for the employer once only do you still need to pay the super or is there a time limit, they need to work for to be eligible for super payment. Also, the amount of money they got paid for the job, is there a minimum gross pay rule for contractors?
Suppose there are multiple contractors who does one job for $50 to $100 and does no work after. Do we still need to pay super on that?
Thanks
