Will I need to file an Australian tax return using my tfn or just a NZ tax return? Any help much appreciated

Hi @Chris8192

If you’re not an Australia resident for tax purposes and you’ve received any Australian income, you must declare this in an Australian tax return and you don’t need to declare any of your foreign sourced income.

This is just if you're on any other visa then a working holiday maker visa.

There are different rules If you’re on a working holiday maker visa.

You may not need to lodge a tax return all together.

If this applies to you check out our further info on WHM visas and lodging a tax return.
