Should entertainment by classed as a GST Free account or BAS excluded? Because my old accountants have set it iour entertainment account as GST Free but I have done some research and I am thinking it should be BAS excluded??

Hello there @Bubbles1122,

You haven't given us enough information to be able to give you an answer. Generally non-deductible entertainment expenses are not reported on a BAS but we will need more info from you to be sure.

Can you please share with us more info about the entertainment. Was it business related? Where, why, when and how was the entertainment performed?

Hello - I would like to know the answer to this one also!

As an example; dinners and drinks with clients at restaurants at Christmas time.

My initial thought was that an account containing costs such as these would be BAS excluded (though they have been set to GST free previously). However, after some further research, it seems we can actually claim GST/a deduction on these costs for team members present provided they are included in our FBT return. Is this correct?

Thanks
