Hey , It appears that they're still using their old trading name and not their registered business name. If they're still wanting to invoice under their old trading name, then they're going to need to register it as a business name (https://business.gov.au/planning/new-businesses/business-names-trading-names-and-legal-names#:~:text=A%20%27trading%20name%27%20refers%20to,it%20as%20a%20business%20name.). When being issued with an invoice the supplier needs to have clearly identified themselves. This being by providing: - their identity (name) - their ABN You can speak with the supplier and provide them with the information we have available about invoicing (https://www.ato.gov.au/businesses-and-organisations/gst-excise-and-indirect-taxes/gst/tax-invoices) on our website.
