My current role is an automation test engineer and primary role is to develop test code to validate the software code. This role is similar to a beginner or intermediate software developer. I want to improve my software coding skills and do a programming bootcamp with will lead to Diploma in Information Technology.

This will definitely help to improve my current skills but also give me skills to take on web development tasks or backend dev tasks.

Is it possible to claim my tuition which I am planning pay by my self as self education expenses ?

Hi @emoticon,

Yes you can claim your tution so long as the diploma either:

  • leads to an increase in your employment income, or
  • maintains or improve the skills you need to maintain your job.

It sounds like it falls into at least the second category. You can read more about self-education expenses if you need more certainty.
