Dear officer,

My family is going back overseas next month and would like to purchase an iPhone online. Can they claim it in the airport? If so, anything specific information needed on the invoice? Anything they need to be aware of?

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you.

Hi @Pennylyq,

To make a claim under the tourist refund scheme (TRS). It needs to meet a number of requirements.

You can view these requirements on our Tourist refund scheme page.

One of the requirements is the person departing Australia must either carry or wear the goods on board the aircraft or ship as cabin baggage.

If they are purchasing the iPhone online and they don't have the physical iPhone with them when they leave Australia. Then they will not be able to claim.
