Hi, I will try to succinctly explain this specific scenario as I would greatly appreciate to know if I should be charged GST or not.

I am not registered for GST as I don't earn over the bracket.

If I have a rack of my clothing in a shop as a 'collaborator' meaning in exchange for selling my clothes through the store I pay a portion of the rent, I open the shop 2 days a week and I get all the income from sales of my stock, should I be exempt from paying GST on the total of my sales to the owner of the business that a collaborated with?

To clarify the owner is registered for GST but doesn't receive any income from my sales.

Would greatly appreciate any advice as I understood that I wasn't liable to pay GST in this case.

Thank you

Thank you

Hello there @Lily_linen,

Yeah, that sounds right.

It looks like the owner/ their business is acting as an agent for you by selling your items on your behalf. They need to charge GST on each item they sell for you even if you're not registered.

This is because they're registered, and they're the seller in this arrangement. You might want to have a look out our using an agent webpage. These kinds of arrangements are more often based on commissions than the full number of sales.
