I am a Real Estate Agent, currently being paid a small wage and an incentive / bonus scheme under a team arrangement. In April 2024, I have been asked to go commission only.

I will still be employed by the same principal, and I am happy to do this arrangement as I will make a lot more money this way as previously I was working with under peformers as part of a team.

Do I need an ABN to do this? Someone told me if I do, I will only pay 30% Tax? I didn't know about this, and was (until they mentioned it) planning to just be paid under TFN.
