I live in the Philippines. I have a check refund from ATO for overwithheld taxes but the name is wrong, how can I have my check replaced? None of the banks also accepts AUD checks in PH for deposit. Does ATO do wire transfer instead converted into your local currency?

We don't offer electronic transfers to an overseas bank account.
Do you still have an Australian bank account? If so, we can cancel the cheque and you can request it be transferred electronically instead.
Before you do that though you mentioned your name is incorrect. Check out our update your name page about how you can do this.
Or, if you've used a tax agent to lodge your tax return you can let them know you want to change the refund method.
