Hi!

I was supposed to get my tax return mailed to me as a check. I got a Notice of Assessment and a Statement of Account. Are these the only things that will be mailed or will a get another letter with a check in it that I can take to my bank?

Hi @Monika96,

Your refund cheque should issue at the same time as your NOA and statement of account so it shouldn't be too far behind.

I just want to double check - if you're entitled to a refund your NOA should say Outcome of this notice $ XX.XX CR and then it will say how your refund was sent to you.

If you are indeed entitled to a refund and it doesn't turn up soon you might need to get in touch with us to have it re-issued.

Are you sure you are meant to get a cheque? If you entered bank account details the refund would've gone there.

There should be a line on your NOA to say how the refund should be paid.

Thank you for answering! Yeah there was an issue with my bank details so I got an email from the ATO saying they will post me a cheque instead. Can't see any such line. It's just a breakdown of the tax.
