On 16/01/24 I paid my YE 2023 Tax debt - $4002.29, which included visa card fees.

I accidentally paid this Tax debt again on 14 March 2024 by direct transfer from my ANZ Access account. This amount was $3972.50.

I don't seem to be able to see record of these funds transfers to the ATO in my ATO account. Where can I find ATO's receipt of these funds?

Can the double payment go towards my current PAYG tax debts for FYE 2024? Or, alternatively can the overpayment be credited back into my ANZ Access Account?

Thank you.

Maree

Hi @Mos,

Usually if you overpay it'll show as a credit on the account you paid it too. If you can't see it don't stress - it'll be there somewhere, we may just have to search for it for you.

This is called a missing payment and you'll need to speak with us about it. Once the payment has been found it can be either left on the account and offset future debts or you can request it be refunded the same way it was paid.
