Hi,

I am working for a software company and looking to get 3 months of my salary as advance/loan to address the financial difficulties raised due to my relocation. I am hoping to pay that back to the company monthly over a period of 12/24 months. Below are my questions:

1) Is this advance/loan amount taxable?

2) Can my employer auto-deduct the agreed repayment from my salary?

3) Should the repayment be before tax or after tax?

4) If employer can't auto-deduct, can I pay from my bank account to the employer account?

5) Will my employer incur any tax?

Please advise.

  1. taxable, unless it is a loan
  2. yes, if that is what has been agreed
  3. before, unless it was a loan
  4. only if it was a loan
