Hi so I’ve started doing Uber eats delivery like a month or two ago, and I’m just really confused on what I have to do with the taxes, I was told that I will have to pay taxes but what is the process I have to complete and do I have to wait til the tax return to let ato know my earnings and all that? Can someone give me like a quick summary of the steps I need to complete thank you!

  1. Ubereats provides income records with each payment, so keep all these
  2. Keep car log book e.g. use ATO app
  3. Keep receipts/invoices for all expenses - can photo into ATO app
  4. Back up the ATO app regularly
  5. At year end, prepare profit statement from income & expenses
  6. Enter totals into business section of tax return after 30 June.

Best to get proper advice, relevant to your circumstances, from a local tax agent.
