I am a tourist visa holder planning to buy brand new property in Sydney, I set up mygovid in order to apply for FIRB approval for foreign investor however mygovid need Australian identification which I do not have. Is there any other way to apply for FIRB without using mygovid apps?

Hi @Foreigner7,


You can set up your myGovID without any Australian documents. This will give you basic identity strength.


To access online services for foreign investors you only need a basic identity strength.


If you're eligible, you may be able to use this application form.

Thank u for ur reply. The FIRB application form u sent me stated that forms can be used other than variations and residential real estate applications. I am buying an off plan new dwelling residential Apartment. Is there another different FIRB form I can use for off plan new dwelling residential property? Thank u

There isn't another way.


You don't need Australian documents to do it via online services for foreign investors. If your myGovID is showing a 'basic' identity strength you just need to follow the rest of the steps to set up your access.


Once this is set up, you'll be able to do the application online.
