I mailed back the ABN cancellation form, to cancel a partnership ABN, a month ago but it’s still showing as active.

The ATO service standard is 28 days but they are running very late on a lot of different fronts.
Lots of different ways to have the ABN cancelled
Easiest way to can the ABN is to give the ABR a call and they can do it over the phone and the ATO systems will usually process it overnight and you should see the cancellation the next day.
You can still call them even though you have lodged a form.
