So I had some fees that I needed to pay my university, it was around $2000, and when I went to pay, it said that it was deferred. I have also been given a scholarship of $11,000. I am not sure if I need to pay this off anymore, as I want to pay off my fees without putting it into the HECS debt. I also checked my ATO portal and found nothing about my HECS debt. I also want to avoid paying more than I have to, so I pay upfront.

Hi @Nabiha.Syeda,

Congratulations on your scholarship 📚

When your university fees are deferred it means they'll become part of your HECS/HELP debt. You won't be able to view your HECS debt in your online services until the university have notified us of the amount. We only look after the loan once we're told the info. As soon as it shows, you'll be able to make payment to us.

If you're concerned that it's not showing yet, then you may need to speak to your education provider to see if they've sent it to us.
