My usual place of work is at home in my home office space. Occasionally (once a month or less), I am required to go into the office for an all team day. Can I claim the parking expenses for going to the city as a deduction on my tax return as a work related expense?

Parking is considered a part of travelling between 2 workplaces. So the question is really whether the travel between your regular workplace (home) and the office is a deductible expense. This would be determined by the answer to the question: Is the office a regular workplace as well?
This link provides some information on this.
For the the parking to be claimable the office workplace would need to be not a regular workplace. This can sometimes be a difficult conclusion to make. All facts need to be considered. (The example of Brock in the link may help)
