I'm looking to pay off my first semester of HECS before my loan gets increased. All of the solutions I find about it mention finding my PRN through the ATO website/app, but when I go to the ATO website/app, it doesn't come up with my loan. Does anyone know how to link my HECS to my ATO account without using a PRN or how to get my PRN without the ATO?
Hey @RiverMoon,
Great to see you’re being so proactive about your uni loan!
Your loan account will appear automatically in online services. If you’ve just started your degree this year, we possibly haven’t been sent the details of your loan yet. Once we have that info, we’ll upload it to your ATO online account, so there’s nothing specific that you need to do.
Once we have that all loaded a PRN will be made available and you can make voluntary payments. And even better news is that indexation doesn’t apply to loans that are less than 11 months old! For further info check paying my HECS HELP student loan.
Hope this sets your mind at ease, but if you have any concerns you could also double check with your uni services that everything’s on track.

Hi @RiverMoon
If you only started studying in semester 1 2024, your loan won't be indexed until 1 June 2025.
