I have provided my Novated lease company with photographic evidence of my seperate electricity meter for my EV charger and tried to claim electricity costs for EV Charging as a portion of my Household electricty usage. Eg, House used 2000KWH @ 48cents per KWH and evidence shows EV Charger (with seperate meter) used 500KWH... I was hoping to claim 500KWH x 48cents per KWH. The Lease company has refused and starts quoting KMs and 4.2 cents per KM. I thought my approach was sound, showing a tax invoice for entire household and photographic evidence of EV charging use.

If this is not allowed should I ask my electricity retailer to seperately meter and invoice the EV Charger? Can I then claim the full cost of EV charging electricty useage ??

Note this question does not relate to FBT and is purely trying to claim electricity as a running cost of the vehicle.

Best to first ask the FBT company what would be acceptable to them.
