Hi, We are living in an rented apartment, I am in charge of paying bills, I bought the furniture and all people send me the money to my account and I pay from it all bills, rent etc, for this I am receiving a small income weekly but I did the numbers and in total I have earned approx. 2000 in the whole fiscal year so my questions are:

  1. I have earned, approx. 2000, how can I declare it on my tax return?
  2. One person now wants to start to pay his part by cash, I told him that he must deposit it to the account because I don't like cash and I don't have time to go to the ATM to deposit it and I prefer to not have cash in my room. Would I have a problem for accepting Cash deposited in my account?

Is the income you talk about their share of the bills that you then pay? Or are they also giving you something extra that's for you? If it's their share of the bills, then it's not income you need to declare.


The cash part doesn't have any real impact. If it was assessable income, you need to make sure you include it in the tax return. Again, it sounds like 1 person share of bills. Someone's share of household bills doesn't need to be reported.
