I will start a new full-time job next month (1.00 FTE) but plan to work in another job part-time (say 0.2 or 0.3 FTE), in addition to my full-time job. In both jobs, I will be an employee. My main job fill be a continuing position and the part-time job will be a fixed term.

My specific questions are: (1) Is this arrangement legally allowed?; and (2) If yes to the first question, is there a maximum number of hours that I can work in the second (part-time job)? I can vary the hours I work in the part-time job.

I apologise if this is a repetition of another question, but the information that I could find on this online was a bit hazy.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

Hiya @Cha 👋

These are questions for the Fair Work Ombudsman, not the ATO.

Hi Deanne,

Thanks for the prompt response. Much appreciated.

I'll contact the Fair Work Ombudsman. But, just to be clear, is it correct to then say ATO has no restriction on being on the situation I mentioned? That is, working full-time plus part-time in two jobs does not concern the ATO?

Thanks,

Cha
