This week, I received around $1.5K money from ATO, but I do not know what it was for. Transaction description says "DEPOSIT ATO" and then a 15 digit numeric string. I have checked myGov, but there is no notification email from ATO explaining the reason of this recent payment. I have also checked my Tax account summary through myGov ATO link, but there is no information concerning this payment. Could you please advise what I should do. Thanks, and regards.

If I were you, I would keep that money seperate and not spend it until you have confirmed with the ATO what the funds are from.
If you cannot locate the amounts on MyGov I would recommend contacting the call centre so they can try to trace the payment.
