Hello,
I need some advice please. I have private hospital insurance but just realised it doesn't offset the MSL because it is an overseas visitors cover. I am on the 482 visa so cannot get a normal australian private health one to offset the MSL but I am considered 'Australian' when I am paying tax. I have to pay the MSL as I have medicare and cant seem to find an overseas cover that offsets this.
Is there one out there that offsets the MSL when on a 482 visa? I am not really sure how its fair that I have to pay it when I am paying the same tax as citizens and I also have the right hospital cover so I am hoping there is an option out there to offset this somehow.
If there isn't one once I have PR can I get a normal healthcare package and offset this? Or will I have to still pay the MSL as I have been in the country longer than a year and I am over 31??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I will loose a lot of my salary from working hard offshore due to this.
Thanks
