Hi,

I am a support worker and I want to know if I can claim travel between works.

I get travel allowance (not reimburse) from the company to drive between each clients and when taking clients somewhere. It is the same rate for both.

Can I deduct this on my tax return?

Can I also claim travel from home and to home? My work place keep changing and it is not fixed for examples I go to the same clients for 3 weeks then the roster changes due to the clients leaving or adding new clients to my roster.

Check the information in this link to see if you qualify as an itinerant worker (see section at bottom of page on itinerant or shifting places of work).

Trips you can and can't claim | Australian Taxation Office (ato.gov.au)

If this is your situation, and most support workers who have clients in the community and have no regular workplace, are itinerant workers, then you can claim all travel from home to first client, between clients, travel with clients, and travel back home.
