How did someone else add their details to my ABN under 'trading as'?

You should look up your ABN in ABN lookup (https://abr.business.gov.au/) and see if the names listed there. If it was an old trading name then it means it has been added through the ABR, if its a formal business name (https://asic.gov.au/for-business/registering-a-business-name/) then it has been registered with ASIC by someone. If the name isn't listed there then you should ask the provider of the form you completed.
