Can I claim Tithing from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a tax deduction considering they are a registered DGR, I don't receive any material benefit from that money and it is voluntarily given. I've been contacted by an officer saying tithing does not apply as voluntary?
Yes, but you need to special donation receipt they issue to you.

I do have it, but the ATO officer looking into it said tithing is not deductible but gave me no particular reason other that it didn't meet the criteria.
Search the Australian Charity Register here: https://www.acnc.gov.au/charity/charities
When you find and display the record for the relevant charity, there is a box on the top right hand corner of the screen that says "Will my donation be tax deductible?" Click on that and scroll down to where it says "Deductible gift recipient status". That states whether the charity is eligible to receive tax deductible donations or not. (fyi, I searched for THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS ABN [Removed by moderator] 413, and it is not eligible.). Tithes are typically not considered tax deductible donations.
