Hi. Here's my situation: I'm an international student and I have been in Australia for 10 years. I'm graduating from PhD soon and I'm not working this financial year. Im Selling off a lot of my collectables on eBay As I may Leave Australia After graduation.

They sell quite slow But I do list a lot. Income are a couple of thousands dollars. I don't make profits on most of them, just Selling at or close to my purchase Price. I don't have receipts though, Because most are bought second hand.

I don't think I'm oblidged to report personal Tax on them, But just wish to clarify. Thank you.

Hi @ziucqea1

You have to decide if what you're doing is a business or a hobby.

If you're selling your own personal items, it's likely to be a hobby. And you wouldn't include the income.

If you buy items with the intention to sell them for a profit, it may be considered a business. And you'd include the income in your return.
